Weather is the state of the atmosphere
It can be cloudy and cold or warm and clear
Scientists can predict when a storm is near
By studying weather data from previous years
Will it be hot or cold or start to rain?
Will there be a tornado or hurricane?
Once we all understand weather change
We can prepare for the climate, every day

Weather starts with the water cycle, it’s vital
To understand the steps of H2O’s revival
Always constant, no beginning or final
Stages to the process, never stays idle
We’ll start in the clouds with condensation
The phase gas changes to a liquid state and
Water vapor cools, cloud precipitation
Is expressed as rain, sleet, or snowflakes then
It fills lakes, makes puddles, and soaks soil
Evaporation happens when a pot of water boils
Instead of a stove coil, the sun heats everywhere
Then water on the surface becomes vapor in the air
As it rises with the heat seven thousand feet
It joins other vapors and temperatures decrease
Which leads tiny droplets to form and join a team
That’s how clouds are made and then the cycle repeats

What do you like to do when the weather is nice?
I like the play at the park and ride my bike
What about when dark clouds appear in the sky?
I know it’s not safe, so it’s time to go inside
Alright, that’s smart, observe your environment
Some weather is peaceful, some weather is violent
Thunder is loud, but lightning is silent
And could power a light bulb six month with one strike, yeah
Tornadoes are fast moving columns of wind
They descend from clouds, to the ground, and spin
The funnel destroys things as it twists and bends
So it’s easy to see where they begin and end
Hurricanes are slow and powerful storms
That form in the ocean where the water is warm
Outer bands are dangerous, but it’s calm at the core
Some people evacuate, some prepare at the store
